What is an IT professional?

A janitor for a computer system.

In the old days, the IT person was called the SysAdmin.  And do you know what a SysAdmin is?  It's the fucking janitor for a computer system.  The SysAdmin handles things like handing out passwords, just like how a janitor always has a huge ring of keys on his belt...like being the key master.  "If you want to get into any locked rooms...see me!"  The SysAdmin does "maintenance" on the computers, just like a janitor does maintenance in a building.

I had an idiot boss once who, in an effort to belittle me in a meeting said, "Do you realize I spent 20 years as a systems administrator?"  I wanted to say, "Oh... am I supposed to be impressed?  You mean in 20 years you never got a promotion, you dumb fuck?"
IT professionals perform a variety of functions (IT Disciplines/Competencies) that range from installing applications to designing complex computer networks and information databases. A few of the duties that IT professionals perform may include data management, networking, engineering computer hardware, database and software design, as well as management and administration of entire systems.
That was obviously written by an IT guy trying to make his job sound important

Installing applications?  That's loading a CD on the computer.  A monkey can do that.

Designing complex computer networks?  I think you just connect everything together and it works.  That stuff was figured out a long time ago.

Information databases?  Is there any other kind of database?

Duties include data management?  Isn't that just a database?

Networking?  Being on Facebook?

Engineering computer hardware?  They don't really do that.

Database and software design?  Big fucking deal.

Management and administration of entire systems?  Exactly, SysAdmin... the fucking janitor of the computer!

Republicans tell 9/11 responders to go fuck themselves.

Senate Democrats failed Thursday to win a procedural vote to open debate on a bill that would provide medical benefits and compensation for emergency workers who were first on the scene of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

The motion for cloture, or to begin debate, needed 60 votes to pass due to a Republican filibuster, but fell short at 57-42 in favor.
They said it would be too expensive.  Of course they intend to approve any bill that continues the tax break for the rich, costing $100's of billions more than medical benefits for the first responders.  Heil Das Kapitalism! Slimeball, pieces o' shit, all of them.  Run those motherfuckers right out of town!!!

Sarah Palin says Wikileaks founder "Un-American"

Yet another slanderous and insulting accusation from the Tea Party?
Hackers in London that the Palin team believe to be affiliated with “Operation Payback” – a group of supporters of Julian Assange and Wikileaks – have tried to shut down SarahPac and have disrupted Sarah and Todd Palin’s personal credit card accounts, SarahPAC aide Rebecca Mansour said.

“No wonder others are keeping silent about Assange's antics,” Palin emailed ABC News. “This is what happens when you exercise the First Amendment and speak against his sick, un-American espionage efforts.”
Hey douchebag...he's NOT American.

Fw: Fwd: Fwd: ONLY 31 WORDS....Think About It.

I'm always getting these forwarded emails that are circulated by friends who are right wing conservatives.  Coming from a right winger, these patriotic type things rarely hold up to scrutiny.  Here's what it said:
"Isn't life strange? I never met one Veteran who enlisted to fight for Socialism."
I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG,
OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA ,
AND TO THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS,
ONE NATION UNDER GOD,
INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!
If Muslims can pray daily on Madison Avenue in NYC, why are Christians banned from praying in public and erecting religious displays on their holy days or any day?

"I was asked to send this on if I agree, or delete if I don't.

It is said that 86% of Americans believe in God.

Therefore I have a very hard time understanding why there is such a problem in having 'In God! We Trust' on our money and having 'God' in the Pledge of Allegiance.

I believe it's time we stand up for what we believe!
If you agree, pass this on, if not, delete."
~~~o~~~
Life is even stranger when you have your facts right.
  • The Pledge of Allegiance was written in 1892 by Francis Bellamy, a Baptist minister and a SOCIALIST.
  • Bellamy lost his job as a Baptist minister for delivering sermons on such topics as "Jesus the Socialist."
  • The words "under God" were added in 1954, 62 years after it was written.
  • Until 1942, when it was changed by FDR, when reciting the POA, civilians saluted the flag by extending the right arm.  Yes, the Nazi salute.
"Heil Hitler"
Also, I'm pretty sure Christians can pray anywhere Muslims pray in this country.  Nothing like that is banned.  And I see plenty of religious displays around the holidays.
Here's the original Pledge of Allegiance:
I pledge allegiance to my flag and the republic for which it stands: one nation indivisible with liberty and justice for all.
If you listen to Glenn Beck...
...in order to get to the truth you'll need the secret decoder ring.
To do it manually, you take the square root of the inverse of the opposite of everything he says.
Truth = sqrt (-1/x), where x = Glenn Beck
1. Note that taking the square root of a negative number yields an imaginary number which accounts for the fact that most of what he says is pure imagination (read bullshit.)
2. In the novel "The Da Vinci Code," the character Robert Langdon jokes that character Sophie Neveu "believes in the imaginary number  because it helps her break code" (Brown 2003, p. 351)
The Tea Party Loves Thomas Paine
Tea baggers like Glenn Beck, and others, like to give their simple-message-for-simple-minded-people, i.e., "common sense <fill in the blank>" an air of respectability by saying (and writing) that (certain) founding fathers would have embraced their nonsense.  That's BULLSHIT!!!
One of their favorites is Thomas Paine, who published a pamphlet entitled, Common Sense, in 1776.  Glenn Beck likened himself to Paine by putting out a book that looks like, and has the same name as, Paine's Common Sense.
Beck has the audacity to claim the book was inspired by Thomas Paine.  Apparently not inspired enough to actually read anything Paine wrote.  Paine would have had a field day ripping apart Beck's Mormon pseudo-religion.  For one thing, it hadn't yet been invented in Paine's time.  (I have Beck's book but just can't seem to read more than half a page before I get distracted.)
Lately I've seen a banner on a Tea Party website for a book put out by some knuckleheads called "The American Civil Rights Union."  They're a bunch of religious kooks who hate Obama and the ACLU.  The book is called, These are the Times that Try Men's Souls, America - Then and Now In The Words of Tom Paine.
"What would Thomas Paine Say?"
He'd probably say, "FUCK OFF!!!"  What's funny is that Tea Partiers refer to people who are smarter than them, like Obama, as "elitists."  Obviously they hadn't thoroughly vetted Paine because, if they had, they would have known he was an elitist of the highest order.  Paine was involved with a group called the Society of Twelve, a local, élite intellectual group while living in England.  However, for now, Thomas Paine is their man.
"A new generation of American patriots — Tea Partiers, among many other ordinary citizens — will learn that their contemporary cause aspires to the same ideal as Paine’s: freedom. This book will become a classic in the literature of liberty.” - Colin A. Hanna, president, Let Freedom Ring
Every Tea Partier and political candidate must read John Armor’s revival of Thomas Paine’s works to best understand what we’re
fighting for, and against, in 2010 and 2012." — Jed Babbin
Hey Tea Baggers...after you're done reading that, I've got some more shit you can read:
"The Christian system of religion is an outrage on common sense." - Thomas Paine
"Yet this is trash that the Church imposes upon the world as the Word of God; this is the collection of lies and contradictions called the Holy Bible! this is the rubbish called Revealed Religion!" - Thomas Paine
"What is it the Bible teaches us? - raping, cruelty, and murder. What is it the New Testament teaches us? - to believe that the Almighty committed debauchery with a woman engaged to be married, and the belief of this debauchery is called faith." - Thomas Paine
"All the tales of miracles, with which the Old and New Testament are filled, are fit only for imposters to preach and fools to believe."  - Thomas Paine
Thomas Paine Quotations
BTW, Jed Babbin, who is quoted up above, was not the guy on "The Beverly Hillbillies."  He was in the H. W. Bush Administration.  I found this on Wikipedia:
Babbin feels that the Zumwalt class destroyer is less expensive and more effective than the Arleigh Burke class destroyer, however Admiral Gary Roughead, the Chief of Naval Operations has said that the switch away from the Zumwalt was in response to emerging threats and it would be less expensive to build new Burkes than it would be to reconfigure the Zumwalt to match the Navy's needs.
 That's all it says!!!  WTF?  But I did find a funny quote by him on there:
"Going to war without France is like going deer hunting without an accordion. You just leave a lot of useless, noisy baggage behind!" - on Hardball, January 30, 2003
Midterm Elections: The American People Sent a Message.
We the People are:
  1. stupid,
  2. ill-informed,
  3. completely incapable of making an intelligent decision in support of our own self-interests.
In the South Carolina primary, Alvin Greene won the Democratic nomination for senate because his name was at the top of the list and because voters thought he was Al Green the singer. Greene, the non-singer, got 59% of the vote to beat candidate Vic Rawl.  Rawl was previously elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives four times.  (Apparently voters didn't mistake him for Lou Rawls the singer.)  Greene won despite very limited campaigning and campaign spending, having no website, no yard signs, unemployed and living with his father, being involuntarily discharged from the military, and under indictment on criminal charges for showing pornographic pictures to an 18-year old female college student.   Greene lost in the November election, but still got 27.65% of the vote.
In Delaware, running for the U.S. Senate, Christine O'Donnell, a former witch, who has spoken out against masturbation, doesn't believe in the theory of evolution, does believe there are mice with "fully functioning" human brains, received 40% of the vote.  (I also heard on Howard Stern that she has a hairy pussy.)
voting results
I could go on.
Mice with Human Brains!!!
This is kind of late, but...I just started this blog, and Christine was back in the news again.  But, remember this?
"They are -- they are doing that here in the United States. American scientific companies are cross-breeding humans and animals and coming up with mice with fully functioning human brains. So they're already into this experiment." - Christine O'Donnell
Maybe one day scientists can give Christine a "fully functioning" human brain.
Apparently 40% of the voters in Delaware have  fully functioning mouse brains.  That's how many voted for the dumb bitch.  How fucking stupid are American voters?
